OPEN CALL - FOLLOWING A PATH
Following a path - an online pavilion for The Wrong Biennale 2o23/24, curated by Tiina Burton
--- What might it mean to follow a path? ---
The path could be personal, geographical, metaphorical, historical, ethical…
How might a path counter apathy? What does following a path do differently from blazing a trail - can we do both? How do we navigate the twists and turns, and what happens when we stray? How might we follow the process, the journey?
--- Deadline: Ongoing for the duration of the Biennale.
--- The platform:
Each artist’s work will be hosted on our online pavilion at https://apath.cargo.site for the duration of The Wrong Biennale. The work will be shown online from November 1st, 2o23 until March 1st, 2o24
--- The art work:
We encourage creative ways of, and musings on, path following; using any media suited to display in a web-based exhibition. “Format all artworks to be internet friendly. Image, gif, video, interactive, augmented reality, immersive, sound or text, any mix of these, and beyond.” (TheWrong.org) These works could include a sense of linearity, a path through time &/or in space, a palimpsest of trails, and could utilise the context of a web page.
Video work can also be included in our Pavilion’s playlist submission for broadcast at The Wrong Television https://thewrong.tv/ and Canal18o.pt
We practice inclusivity within the guidelines of the theme, The Wrong Biennale ethos, and of kindness and care. All art will be considered, providing it meets these guidelines and does not promote hate or violence.
